Our tale begins when Isaiah and Sarah Boyce set off from Lincolshire in 1824, family in tow, for the deep forests of Ohio. What a shock their new home must have been! Still, now they were gentry. They owned land, and a good bit of it, too. What roots they sank didn't all go too deep, however, because much of their family continued "westering". By now, some have even gone full circle! Clear around the globe to sit in a quiet country church in Welton, Lincolnshire, where the baptismal font is inscribed: "John Boyes, 1642". But, my father always claimed we had a castle in France, so that's what I'm looking for!
Anyway, here are the bare facts (names, dates and places) of all that Westering of Boyces. I hope you find something here that helps you, and I hope you will find the time to stop and share a tale or two through the Guest Book, because it's the tales, more than the facts, that give the family life and will continue to hold it together.
This site contains only information on Isaiah and Sarah's direct descendents and their spouses. I have much more detail on those related families, so, if you are interested, please contact me or leave a note in the Guest Book.
